10/2/2020 (Permalink)
Storm damage is the last thing on your mind until it strikes. There are many tips on what to do in case a storm hits but what about after? Today, we want to focus on what NOT to do after the storm hits and water has gotten into your home:
- Never leave books, magazines or other colored items on wet floors or carpets
- Water removal requires advanced equipment – don’t us a household vacuum cleaner to remove water
- Never use household appliances or turn the television on. The water most likely has soaked through the carpets and flooring. This may cause an electrical hazard.
Keep these tips in mind until our SERVPRO Claremont / Montclair team arrives to restore the damage (which is usually within the hour). For more information on storm and rain damage tips, give us a call at 909-399-9057.
